Located along the Gulf of Orosei coastline in the territory of Dorgali, the Bue Marino Cave is a vast marine cave complex. The cavern derives its name from the Mediterranean monk seal, affectionately called “sea cow” (bue marino) by local fishermen, which once used the cave’s hidden internal beaches to nurse its pups. Extending for kilometers into the limestone mountain, the cave features galleries adorned with stalactites and stalagmiti reflected in underground saltwater lakes. The contrast between dark inner chambers and natural light streaming through sea openings creates stunning visual reflections.
