Along Sardinia’s central-eastern coast, within the municipality of Baunei, lies one of the most majestic and wild coastal stretches in Italy. Here, massive walls of pure white limestone drop vertically over 500 meters into the deep waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. These precipitous sea cliffs form an almost unbroken wall, interrupted only by iconic coves like Cala GoloritzĂ© and Cala Mariolu. The sheer height of these cliffs renders the coastline virtually inaccessible from land except via demanding trekking trails, offering sailors and travelers an unspoiled coastal landscape.
