Tucked into the Supramonte limestone massif between Urzulei and Orgosolo lies the spectacular Gorropu Gorge, recognized as the deepest canyon in Italy and one of the most impressive in Europe. Carved over millennia by the Flumineddu River, the canyon boasts vertical rock walls towering over 500 meters high. At its narrowest section, the rock faces draw together until they are just a few meters apart. The canyon floor is strewn with massive fallen limestone boulders that create a natural labyrinth, requiring hikers to scramble across giant stones in a wild environment.
