At Capo Testa lies the famous Valle della Luna (Moon Valley), a natural ravine defined by massive white granite boulders. Over millennia, the combined forces of strong Mistral winds and salty sea air eroded the hard rock, sculpting it into smooth, surreal shapes. The stark landscape creates an otherworldly atmosphere. Because of its secluded setting, during the 1960s and 1970s the valley became a famous haven for hippie communities and travelers seeking an alternative lifestyle close to nature.
