Every year at the end of August, the city of Nuoro hosts the awe-inspiring Feast of the Redeemer (Sagra del Redentore), one of Sardinia’s most spiritually significant and visually stunning events. Thousands of faithful and folk groups dressed in their finest regional costumes hike up the steep slopes of Mount Ortobene to reach the towering statue of Christ the Redeemer. The gathering combines deep religious devotion with a massive folkloric parade featuring traditional music, poetry readings, and dancing, drawing visitors from across the globe to experience authentic mountain spirituality.
