Overview of Lodè
Lodè is a mountainous agropastoral center located in the northeastern province of Nuoro, northwest of Mount Albo and at the foot of Mount Calvario. Its economy is primarily driven by cereal, olive, and fruit agriculture, alongside livestock breeding.
Origins & History: Attested since 1341 as Lode, the name is attributed by scholars to a Paleo-Sardinian linguistic layer. Formed historically from the merger of smaller medieval settlements (Sos Lothos, Oriannele, Thilameddu), it belonged in the 11th century to the Giudicato of Gallura within the Montalbo curatoria, later passing to the Baronia of Posada under Aragonese and Spanish rule.
